Sales Representative (Hardware Wholesale) – Johannesburg.

Are you a results-driven B2B sales professional with deep knowledge of the industrial, hardware, or tooling sector in Gauteng? This is a unique opportunity to join a premier distributor of global, best-in-class power and hand tool brands.

We are seeking an energetic and target-driven Sales Representative to manage and significantly grow our dealer and reseller network in the region.

Based in the Gauteng region, your primary focus will be on driving sales growth and fostering long-term partnerships with our established network of retailers and resellers. This is a field-based role requiring extensive daily travel to conduct customer visits across the territory, particularly North Gauteng (including Fourways, Midrand, and Pretoria, and surrounding areas).

Salary: R25,000 to R30,000 per month plus commission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Generation: Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets across the Gauteng region.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities with retailers, and develop plans for key customers to maximize growth potential.
  • Account Management: Maintain strong, professional relationships with existing clients. An existing customer base will be handed over to you.
  • Negotiation & Support: Negotiate monthly stock orders and promotions , and provide prompt after-sales support, handle queries, and resolve complaints.
  • Product Expertise: Conduct on-site product demonstrations, promotions, and merchandising , leveraging strong product knowledge of DEWALT, Stanley, Bahco, and other lines.
  • Reporting: Utilize CRM/ERP systems (e.g., Kerridge, Skynamo) for order capture and reporting. Prepare weekly call reports and market feedback.

What We Are Looking For:

We require a candidate with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a B2B sales environment.

Experience & Territory:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of recent B2B sales experience in the hardware, tools, welding, or fastening sector.
  • Must have recent experience selling to retailers (not end-users).
  • Must have sales experience in North Gauteng.

Skills & Education:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Comfortable with digital tools (CRM, ERP, MS Office, reporting apps like Skynamo).
  • Matric is essential; a tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, or Business is advantageous.

Other Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively across Gauteng (and occasionally nationally) are required.
  • We seek an energetic, self-motivated, and target-driven personality.

Package & Remuneration:

We offer a competitive package designed to reward high performance:

  • Basic Salary: R25,000 to R30,000 per month (depending on experience).
  • Commission: Uncapped commission based on sales performance, calculated from Rand one.
