Introduction
The Sales Representative will be responsible for driving revenue growth by promoting coding, marking, and quality control solutions to industrial clients.
This role requires strong technical understanding of LINX systems and related equipment, with a focus on consultative selling and long‑term client partnerships.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across manufacturing, packaging, and food sectors
- Conduct on‑site product demonstrations and technical consultations
- Prepare and deliver tailored proposals and quotations
- Maintain CRM records and sales pipeline reports
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless installations and after‑sales support
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and client meetings as required
Desired Experience & Qualification
Required Skills & Experience
- Sales Experience – 3+ years in B2B sales, preferably in industrial equipment or technical products
- Product Knowledge and Familiarity with LINX coding systems (CIJ, laser, thermal transfer), inks, and consumables
- Technical Aptitude – Ability to explain product specs, benefits, and applications to non‑technical clients
- Communication – Strong presentation, negotiation, and client‑facing skills
- CRM & Reporting – Proficient in CRM tools and Excel‑based sales tracking
- Travel Flexibility – Willingness to travel regionally for client visits and events
Qualifications
Matric certificate required; tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, or Engineering preferred. Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
Product Knowledge Expectations
- Understand key features and benefits of Continuous Inkjet (CIJ) printers for high‑speed, multi‑surface coding
- Laser coders for permanent, low‑maintenance marking
- Thermal transfer printers for flexible packaging
- Consumables: ink types, ribbons, and maintenance kits
- Stay current with product updates, regulatory requirements, and industry applications
Performance Metrics
- Monthly sales targets achieved (units / revenue)
- Lead conversion rate
- Client retention and satisfaction scores
- Territory coverage and visit frequency
