An exceptional and experienced Sales & Marketing Manager is required for permanent employment with a proudly South African FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) manufacturer based in Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal.

The successful candidate will lead the company’s sales, distribution, and marketing operations — driving brand visibility, market share, and profitability across both retail and wholesale channels.

This position calls for a hands-on, strategic, and people-focused manager capable of building strong client relationships, leading teams, and executing effective marketing and distribution strategies in a competitive FMCG environment.

Salary: R50 000 – R60 000 per month

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sales & Business Development:
    • Develop and implement national and regional sales strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
    • Oversee sales operations across retail, wholesale, and institutional channels.
    • Maintain and expand key client relationships, distributors, and retail partnerships.
    • Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and emerging market segments.
    • Ensure consistent sales performance through clear forecasting, reporting, and sales analysis.
  • Marketing & Brand Management:
    • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns to strengthen brand awareness.
    • Manage advertising, promotions, events, sponsorships, and social media presence in line with the brand identity.
    • Collaborate with creative and digital agencies to produce effective marketing materials.
    • Analyse consumer trends, conduct market research, and evaluate ROI on campaigns.
    • Ensure brand consistency across packaging, communications, and customer touchpoints.
  • Distribution & Supply Chain Coordination:
    • Work closely with logistics, distribution, and production teams to ensure reliable product availability and delivery.
    • Monitor sales forecasts against production capacity to prevent shortages or overstocking.
    • Support the efficiency of the distribution network through regular feedback and data-driven planning.
  • Leadership & People Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage sales representatives, merchandisers, and marketing staff.
    • Set clear performance KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews.
    • Encourage teamwork, accountability, and customer-centric behaviour across departments.
    • Collaborate closely with the senior management and operations teams to achieve company targets.
  • Financial & Administrative Management:
    • Prepare and manage the sales and marketing budget in line with company goals.
    • Track performance against revenue, profit, and growth targets.
    • Prepare monthly sales, market, and marketing reports for management review.
Requirements
  • Degree or National Diploma in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management (essential).
  • Postgraduate or Management qualification (advantageous).
  • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in Sales & Marketing Management within the FMCG Manufacturing + Supply Chain environments (essential).
  • Proven track record of leading successful sales teams and achieving growth targets.
  • Strong understanding of distribution networks, merchandising, and retail sales processes.
  • Demonstrated success in brand development, marketing strategy, and product positioning.
