Overview

The Sales Manager will lead the company’s sales strategy for the High Tonnage Mobile Crushing division. This role is responsible for establishing and guiding a successful sales team while contributing to sales targets, combining sales leadership, business development, and customer relationship management with strategic oversight of technical, after-sales, and support functions. The ideal candidate drives revenue growth, expands market share, and ensures operational excellence across all functions.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Preferable: National Diploma, BTech / BEng / BCom qualification in Engineering, Business, Mining, or a similar relevant field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in sales, business development, or management, ideally in mining, construction, or industrial sectors.
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans; other languages are advantageous.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport; willing to travel.
  • Essential: Prior experience in selling mobile crushing and processing plants to mines and quarries across SA and Africa. Existing relationships within the industry are essential to the role’s success.
  • Proven track record in senior sales or sales leadership roles, preferably in mining, construction, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong experience in sales management, business development, key account management, and revenue generation.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams (sales, technical, product support) is advantageous.
  • Commercial acumen with financial insight and a results-driven focus.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets.
Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Growth

  • Develop and execute the company’s sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market expansion for mobile crushing and processing plants across Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Sales Team to deliver strong performance and meet KPIs.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities, including key accounts and strategic partnerships.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with major customers, distributors, and stakeholders.
  • Lead pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and commercial agreements.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to refine sales strategies.
  • Develop compelling proposals, presentations, and tender submissions to win new business.
  • Collaborate with marketing to design campaigns, promotions, and participation in trade shows and exhibitions.
  • Track sales metrics, prepare forecasts, and provide regular performance reports to senior management.
  • Conduct customer site visits and market engagement to identify opportunities and strengthen relationships.
  • Travel within South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa as required.

Operational Oversight

  • Ensure high-quality service delivery, customer satisfaction, and efficient after-sales operations.
  • Recruit, train, and retain skilled personnel across sales teams.
  • Implement digital tools and supplier systems to enhance efficiency (e.g., telematics, e-Commerce platforms, customer fleet apps).
  • Develop a sales pipeline and monitor progress biweekly.
  • Safeguard company and supplier interests, managing customer claims, complaints, and disputes effectively.
Specific Duties
  • Provide pre- and post-sales support, including technical advice and product education.
  • Assist with tenders, proposals, and quotations, presenting technical solutions to clients.
  • Work with engineering teams and customers to create drawings, sketches, and proposals.
  • Attend trade exhibitions, conferences, and client meetings.
  • Analyze sales data to inform strategy, improve performance, and identify growth opportunities.
