Role Purpose

The purpose of the role is to execute on the Momentum Insure Sales strategy and achieve product sales targets while delivering an excellent, consistent customer experience across all products at the lowest possible cost. The role leads and directs the Momentum Insure BDC channel, requiring strong leadership to motivate and inspire the team to achieve outstanding results. The Sales Manager is accountable for understanding the regional customer base, growth opportunities and specific demands, whilst ensuring effective capacity management of available resources to achieve higher operational efficiencies.

The Sales Manager ensures that the processes within the Momentum Insure Sales Team comply with legislative and process requirements, achieve required audit scores, and works with staff to enhance skill levels and create a healthy work environment.

Contracting and achieving training and development plans for BDCs, managing transformation, and employment equity are also part of the role.

Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12
  • NQF 5 as required or equivalent qualification
  • FAIS Credits: minimum 30 credits in short‑term insurance if the date of first appointment is before 01 01 … (if on or after 01 01 …, a full recognised qualification as per the FSCA qualification is required)
  • FAIS Regulatory examination for Representatives (RE5) and (RE1) for Key Individual
  • If registered for one Class of Business (Personal or Commercial): 12 CPD points
  • If registered for two Classes of Business (Personal plus Commercial): 18 CPD points
  • 5 years' experience in Sales (Short‑Term Insurance)
  • Must have experience in both personal and commercial lines
  • Experience in managing staff in a short‑term industry
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Drive profitable sales volume of all Momentum Insure products.
  • Achieve excellent, consistent customer experience across channel.
  • Implement sales plans, budgets, and accelerated growth strategies.
  • Address sales to the external market – South African and public sector markets.
  • Maximise channel effectiveness.
  • Communicate the sales distribution strategic objectives, plan, and operating model to stakeholders.
  • Apply a deep understanding of provincial client and competitive markets and needs to execute penetration strategies.
  • Establish a fast and efficient lead management process.
  • Ensure effective resourcing, development, performance management and retention plans are in place for the sales team.
  • Run collaborative meetings for retail sales.
  • Collate provincial specific retail‑tied sales information and compile relevant reports for stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective risk management and governance of Momentum Insure sales.
  • Accountable for management oversight of sales activities, including compliance function performance, specifically with respect to FAIS and licensed product categories.
  • Represent the Sales Team during compliance monitoring visits.
