Job summary
A leading cosmetics company is seeking an Area Manager to develop and implement sales strategies across retail stores. - Develop and implement annual and quarterly sales strategies and budgets to achieve revenue, gross margin, and profitability targets across all regional stores.
- Monitor sales performance for designated stores on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and ensure that Area Managers have effective action plans in place to deliver required results, paying special attention to underperforming stores.
- Lead and manage the team of Area Managers, promoting a high-performance culture through coaching, performance management, and career development.
- Oversee the consistent execution of all operational activities and store standards, including stock management, point of sale (POS) procedures, and banking adherence across the entire footprint.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and legal requirements, investigating and escalating stock losses and shrinkage in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Verify visual merchandising standards and disciplines are consistently implemented and maintained to the required business standard to create a beautiful store experience, supporting promotional rollouts and new product launches.
- Coordinate the successful planning, co-ordination, and launching of new stores, revamps, and relocations within the Southern Africa region.
Requirements
- A three-year tertiary qualification in Retail Management, Business Management, Marketing or a related commercial qualification is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in retail store or area management, with at least 3 years in a multi-store/multi-region sales management role.
- Experience specifically within the cosmetics, beauty, or fragrance industry is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
