This role is responsible for the overall strategic and commercial operations of the Animal Health Technology business in South Africa and Sub‑Saharan Africa.
Responsibilities
- Daily management of the monitoring team and sales activities
- Regular review and reporting on sales, opposition, and customer activities
- Lead, drive, and support the monitoring sales team to achieve set sales targets
- Identify, build, and develop business strategies to facilitate teamwork, grow the business, and promote the monitoring business to key opinion leaders and industry partners
- Manage and approve traveling expenses
- Guide the after‑sales and technical team to enhance after‑care standards
- Handle account queries and support the collections team with client accounts
- Liaison between the local team and the regional APSA team
- Drive market support studies for the SSA region
- Oversee the marketing plan and activities related to the SenseHub brand
- Forecasting and procurement of monitoring stock
- Sales forecasting Day 1, 7, and 20
- Registration and launching of SenseHub products locally
- Business development of SenseHub into new sales territories
- Setting sales budgets and targets
- Liaison with internal cross‑functional technical support teams
- Monthly reporting to our Head office
- Collaborate with Ruminant Sales Managers for effective shared resources
Qualifications
- Tertiary degree
- Minimum of 2 years of marketing and sales experience
- 5 years of experience in managing a team
- Knowledge of the ruminant industry in South Africa and SSA
- Presentation skills
- 60% travel, including occasional overseas trips
- Ability to work under pressure
- Proficient in English and Afrikaans
