The Role
As Sales Manager, you will lead the sales function, manage a team, and ensure sales strategies are executed effectively. You will oversee client relationships, reporting, budgets, and operational efficiencies while ensuring sustainable growth. This position requires excellent leadership, strong commercial acumen, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve company growth objectives.
- Drive business development through new client acquisition and recurring sales systems.
- Monitor store performance and implement improvements to boost profitability.
- Ensure all accounts are serviced efficiently, maintaining strong, profitable relationships.
- Stay ahead of market trends and competitor activity, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Lead a sales team comprising multiple Sales Representatives.
- Coach, mentor, and motivate team members to hit individual and collective targets.
- Design and manage sales routes, schedules, and monitoring systems.
- Hold the team accountable for performance, including handling losses, returns, and damages.
- Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Create and maintain a key client list with structured monthly visits.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic clients.
- Provide clients with product updates, performance reports, and market insights.
- Build long‑term partnerships that support recurring business and customer loyalty.
- Submit weekly sales reports (targets vs. actuals, highlights, achievements).
- Prepare monthly reports on route costs, store profitability, and overall sales performance.
- Use data‑driven insights to recommend strategies for growth and efficiency.
- Document all communication and maintain a strong paper trail for clarity and accountability.
- Manage sales team expenses within the approved salary budget.
- Track and optimize fuel consumption within a capped monthly fuel budget.
- Understand salary structures across Sales, Distribution, Merchandising, Telesales, and Dispatch to support cost management.
- Implement efficient sales routes, client communication systems, and operational controls.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager, Key Account Manager, or similar role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate small teams.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to turn data into action.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and financially disciplined.
- A driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
