Job summary

A leading medical device company located in Johannesburg is seeking a dedicated sales professional to represent their orthopaedic products. The candidate will be responsible for building relationships with surgeons, achieving sales targets, and providing necessary product training. Ideal applicants will have a background in orthopedic sales, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage time effectively. This position requires frequent travel (80%).

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in orthopedic sales or medical device industry.

What You Can Expect

To achieve total budgeted sales and individual product targets for the assigned territory and to represent the Company in the highest professional manner. To adhere to Company policies at all times. Attain proportionate regional sales targets and exceed present Company turnover. To maintain and grow profitability by adherence to Company pricing policies.

How You'll Create Impact
  • To sell on an entirely exclusive basis, the Company's range of products as directed by management strategies.
  • To develop close relationships with all orthopaedic surgeons and allied personnel on the territory.
  • To provide, or arrange to be provided, all of the necessary training in the use of Zimmer products.
  • To follow up any leads or visits, as directed by the Regional Sales Manager, in a timely manner.
  • To adhere to divisional sales strategies under the guidance of Regional Sales Manager.
  • To devote adequate time to acquiring the necessary knowledge of Zimmer Biomet and competitive products required for him / her to be effective.
  • To undertake other duties such as attendance at sales meetings, exhibitions, staff training etc. when required by the Regional Sales Manager.
  • To adhere to divisional pricing policy, unless permission has been received in writing from the Vice President, Northern Europe.
  • To take part in stock checks of instrumentation and consignment stocks as and when required.
  • To provide a daily sales tracker to the regional Sales Manager within the allotted deadlines.
  • To ensure that surgeon profiles and pre and post call planners are kept up to date and available for inspection at all times.
  • To provide forecasts and market research information to divisional management as and when required.
  • To commit adequate expenses and resources to cover all orthopaedic hospitals within the territory on a regular basis.

  • Full knowledge of market and specific products portfolio (Zimmer Biomet and competitors).

  • Required : Degree in Business Administration or related field is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 2 years' proven experience in orthopedic sales, or a minimum of 6 years' proven sales experience in the medical device industry.
