Our client, a national leader in the processed meat and FMCG sector, is looking for a Sales Director to drive national growth across retail, wholesale, and food service channels. This is a senior role for a dynamic commercial leader with a proven track record in strategy, team management, and customer growth.

Based in Durban (with national travel)

  • 10+ years in FMCG sales leadership
  • A bachelor’s degree or MBA is required
  • Meat/food manufacturing experience preferred
  • National travel required
Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Lead and manage the national sales strategy and execution across multiple provinces
  • Drive revenue growth across retail, wholesale, and food service segments
  • Lead, mentor and grow a high-performing national sales team
  • Manage key customer relationships and large account negotiations
  • Collaborate with production, finance and supply chain to align sales targets
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy
  • Oversee budgets, pricing models, and promotional planning
  • Report directly to senior leadership and advise on market development opportunities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or a relevant commercial field
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in FMCG sales, including 5+ years at a senior leadership level
  • Prior experience in the meat, food manufacturing or perishables sector highly advantageous
  • Proven ability to lead and grow national teams
  • Exceptional commercial, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel nationally as required
