SUMMARY
We are looking for a dynamic and target driven Sales Consultant for an established company within catering equipment industry based around the Durban area. The successful candidate will have industrial equipment experience as well as a good understanding of tendering processes.
POSITION INFO: Requirements
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a sales position
- Experience in an Industrial environment
- Experience with industrial equipment sales experience (e.g., machinery, heavy-duty tools, motor industry, manufacturing equipment, Printers, food, etc.).
- Understand tendering processes, quoting, and proposal development.
- Comfortable with stock control and technical product knowledge.
- Experience in Hospitality would be an advantage
- Syspro knowledge would be an advantage
- Experience in managing stakeholders
- Must have own transport and a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of the catering equipment would be advantageous
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Project management knowledge
- High level of administration skills
- Sound business writing skills
- Customer Service skills
RESPONSIBILITIES: Order Management
- Manage orders until payment is completed.
- Process returns and credit notes in accordance with the established procedures.
- Ensure that shipment dates are updated periodically.
- Manage quote submissions, and order processing.
SALES TARGETS
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Generate a specific number of new client accounts per period.
- Produce weekly / monthly sales reports vs targets.
CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
- Understand and manage client expectations.
- Generating leads by building relationships with potential and existing clients.
- Enhancing customer experience.
- Provide outstanding service to consumers both before and after the sale.
- Refer to all client complaints received telephonically to the appropriate manager.
- Maintain a customer database.
PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE & PROMOTION
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of company products / services.
- Accurately present and recommend suitable products to clients.
- Conduct sales presentations, negotiations and conduct cold calling sales.
UPSSELLING & CROSS-SELLING
- Increase average deal size by identifying upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
- Maintain a target percentage of sales revenue from existing client.
TEAM COLLABORATION AND SALES SUPPORT
- Provide timely and professional administrative and quotation support to the external sales team.
- Actively participate in all scheduled internal meetings, sales briefings, and product training sessions.
