Introduction
Our client is a beverage manufacturer located in Stellenbosch and they are looking for a Sales and Data Analyst to join their team as soon as possible.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Sales & Data Analyst (Business Information) role exists primarily to serve the Sales & Marketing functions and to transition the organisation towards a data‑driven model.
- Gather data from various internal & external sources, including CRM systems, web analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), social media, and market research providers such as Circana / Nielsen.
- Clean, process and analyse large datasets to identify trends, evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, and understand consumer behaviour.
- Create reports, dashboards and visualisations to present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
- Use historical data to forecast future sales and market trends.
- Compile data into visualised reports to share with sales and marketing teams.
- Provide data‑driven recommendations to improve sales strategies, optimise marketing spend and enhance customer experience.
- Analyse competitors and external market conditions to provide a better understanding of the business's position in the market.
- Facilitate quicker management responses to the data / information produced, resulting in increased operational efficiency.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Educational Requirements: Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent. A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, common majors include business, marketing, statistics, computer science or a related analytical discipline.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in FMCG or manufacturing, preferably within the Food or Beverage category.
- Adept in working with Microsoft SQL, Power BI and other industry‑specific analytics solutions to provide reporting to the business.
- Proficiency in data analysis, including statistical analysis, data cleansing and visualisation.
- Experience with data analysis tools, programming languages and business intelligence tools such as Microsoft SQL & Power BI.
- Understanding of marketing principles, including marketing strategies, ROI and customer acquisition tactics.
- Strong ability to clearly present complex data and insights to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
