Job summary

Lactalis South Africa is seeking a Sales Analyst to join our team and drive commercial performance analysis, forecasting, and reporting. You will analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales metrics, track distribution and performance, and provide actionable insights to improve service delivery and achieve targets.

Key duties include developing dashboards in Power BI/Excel, supporting annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, and delivering executive reports with clear commercial insights.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Sales/Commerce/Marketing.
• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Proven track record that demonstrates strong analytical ability.
• High level of proficiency in Excel.
• Above average proficiency in PowerPoint (ability to portray data in PowerPoint).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Commercial Performance Analysis: Analyse daily, weekly, and monthly sales and waste performance vs budget; Track volume, value, distribution; Identify gaps, risks, and growth opportunities; Provide commentary and corrective action recommendations; Field Execution & Operations Support; Monitor in-store execution KPIs; Support optimisation of merchandising resources; Analyse regional performance variances; Assist in route-to-market performance tracking.
• Forecasting & Planning: Assist in annual budget and quarterly forecast; Monitor and report on sell-in vs sell-out for key customers groups; Reporting & Dashboard Management: Develop and maintain automated dashboards (Power BI / Excel / BI tools); Ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems; Provide executive-level reporting packs; Simplify complex data into clear commercial insights; Strategic & Ad Hoc Projects: Support business turnaround initiatives; Evaluate ROI on activations and trade spend; Support new market or product launches; Critical Deliverables: Accurate weekly performance dashboards; Monthly executive reporting pack; Forecast accuracy within agreed tolerance.

You will be responsible for providing advice and support for all activities relating to the analysis and reporting of sales in order to continuously enhance service delivery, update information and to reach performance targets.
