About the Role

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Undergraduate Trainee Accountant to join our client's dynamic accounting and auditing team. This role is part of a structured SAICA Training Programme, designed to provide professional work experience in auditing, accounting, and taxation, while you complete your degree and progress towards becoming a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)).

Requirements
  • Currently studying towards a BCom Accounting / BAcc / equivalent SAICA-accredited degree (2nd / 3rd year undergraduate).
  • Strong academic record (must meet SAICA requirements).
  • Must be able to speak Afrikaans fluently.
  • Own transport & valid driver’s licence.
  • Computer literate (MS Office; CaseWare experience advantageous).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and eagerness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with audit engagements under supervision, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
  • Perform reconciliations, testing, and analysis of financial records.
  • Support the preparation of annual financial statements in line with IFRS.
  • Process client transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Exposure to tax (individuals, companies, and VAT) and compliance tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to SAICA regulations, firm policies, and ethical standards.
  • Participate in ongoing learning, development sessions, and assessments as required by SAICA.
