Job summary

A dynamic financial services firm in Pretoria is seeking a trainee to assist with financial report preparation, audits, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will be studying towards a BCom degree, possess strong analytical skills, and have effective communication abilities. Job description
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial reports in terms of required standards.
  • Interpret financial reports and suggest solutions to problems.
  • Assist with strategy planning and execution.
  • Assist in the formulation of business plans and financial forecasts.
  • Help control costs through cost accounting.
  • Completion of all tasks necessary to gain sufficient exposure to the SAICA Training Program competencies and related documentation over the period of traineeship to a SAICA degree of expertise.
  • Plan, execute and finalize audits. This includes, but is not limited to: visiting client premises, requesting and working through client documentation, liaising with clients.
  • Preparation of the annual financial statements within the required framework.
  • Preparation of taxation calculations for clients.
  • Verification of client information and claims.
  • Any other related tasks.
Job Requirements

Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Be very comfortable with, and have a general understanding of, computers and software, with an ability to learn new software easily.

Have working knowledge of Word and Excel.

Experience with Draftworx, ProfTax, and Pastel advantageous but not required.

Have strong analytical ability and work well under pressure while maintaining high levels of accuracy and quality of work.

Be deadline driven and able to work independently without constant supervision.

Have a strong desire to learn and develop in the position in line with furthering your traineeship.

Desired Experience & Qualification

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be studying towards or in possession of a BCom Degree or similar qualification.
  • Valid Driver's license and own reliable transport.
