Job summary

Kraken is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Consumer team. The role focuses on building applications that expose Kraken’s product offering to the mass market, delivering simple, reliable user experiences and scalable systems.

You will design and implement robust Rust services for trading and payments, contribute to distributed architectures, and take end-to-end ownership while mentoring others in a security‑first mindset.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficient in writing network services or asynchronous code in Rust.
• Security-first mindset during system design.
• Able to autonomously debug issues across OS, network and application layers.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, RPCs, Kafka, and event-driven architectures.
• Collaborate with product teams to gather requirements and constraints.
• Take complete end-to-end ownership of systems and libraries.
• Provide mentorship to other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust Rust services and libraries powering trading, payments, and crypto experiences.
• Write reusable, testable code that scales across teams and revenue-critical systems.
• Collaborate on large-scale distributed systems architecture and low-latency solutions.
• Work alongside hundreds of Rust engineers in a high-performance engineering culture.
