Job description
Core Purpose of the Role

The Sales Representative plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth through proactive customer engagement and solution-oriented selling. This role requires extensive travel to identify customer needs and deliver tailored vehicle solutions that align with those needs. The incumbent will manage the end-to-end sales process, ensuring vehicles are available in the right mix, quality, time, and location to exceed customer expectations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to build trust, close deals, and maintain long-term customer relationships.

Key Deliverables and Outputs
  • Welcome and engage customers professionally.
  • Identify customer needs and present appropriate vehicle options.
  • Introduce customers to the F&I (Finance & Insurance) Business Manager for finance applications and value-added products (VAPS).
  • Complete the Offer to Purchase and collect all required documentation.
  • Arrange and conduct vehicle demonstrations or test drives.
  • Prepare the deal file and submit it to the F&I Business Manager and Branch Manager for approval.
  • Follow up on finance application status and keep the customer informed.
  • Schedule vehicle delivery upon finance approval and ensure all fitments are completed.
  • Explain the 30-day exchange plan to the customer.
  • Conduct a Vehicle Takeover Checklist (VTC) and obtain authorization prior to delivery.
  • Deliver the vehicle, explain its features, and hand over all relevant documents and keys.
  • File the completed deal file and obtain customer signatures.
  • Conduct post-delivery follow-ups as per procedure.
  • Respond to all leads within one hour.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of vehicles and Avis Car Sales products and services.
  • Register vehicles and obtain license plates before delivery.
  • Complete and file MIO forms for every sale.
  • Ensure all outsourced work has matching orders and invoices.
  • Submit daily activity sheets and report weekly progress to the manager.
  • Obtain trade-in evaluations and communicate offers to customers.
  • Process trade-in documentation and ensure timely settlements.
  • Follow up on bank pay-outs as per procedure.
  • Respond to all queries within the same day.
  • Escalate and resolve customer complaints within the same day.
  • Action CSI follow-ups monthly as directed by the manager.
  • Inspect vehicle cleanliness before delivery and maintain showroom standards.
  • Ensure showroom stock is correctly priced and presented.
  • Keep workstations and the showroom clean and organized.
  • Accurately file all deal documentation.
  • Attend monthly Redline team meetings and quarterly regional sales meetings.
Academic Qualifications

Essential:

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Code 08 /10 Driver’s License

Advantageous:

  • Sales courses/certificates will be advantageous.
Work Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 Years work experience
  • Previous Sales/Vehicle Sales experience preferable.

Advantageous:

  • Broad understanding of influencing and presenting to Senior Management teams
  • Experience with fleet rollouts
