Responsibilities
- Manage all on‑site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time within budget and to specified quality and safety standards.
- Plan, coordinate and oversee project resources including labour, plant, subcontractors and materials.
- Liaise closely with the client engineers and consultants to maintain strong professional relationships and ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
- Prepare and manage construction programmes, cost reports and progress documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Lead, mentor and develop site teams to achieve performance and productivity targets.
- Manage contract administration, variations and claims in collaboration with the project manager and quantity surveying team.
- Drive continuous improvement in construction methodologies and quality management systems.
Requirements
- BTech/BEng/National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng / Pr Techni Eng registration with ECSA or Pr CM registration with SACPCMP (essential).
- Minimum of 10 years experience in civil construction with at least 5 years in a Site Agent or Senior Site Management role on large‑scale national or equivalent road projects.
- Proven ability to manage complex multi‑disciplinary road construction projects including earthworks, layerworks, drainage and surfacing.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g. GCC 2015, FIDIC or NEC).
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Willingness to be based on site in the Northern Cape.
