Placements24 seeks a passionate Community Health Nurse Educator to empower residents in Paarl and surrounding Western Cape communities through health education, preventative care, and active outreach. The role emphasizes collaboration with local clinics and schools to promote well-being.

The ideal candidate is a registered nurse (SANC) with public health experience and a commitment to empowering individuals and families to lead healthier lives.

Qualifications

• RN with SANC registration (required).
• Postgraduate qualification in Community Health Nursing or Public Health is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years in community health nursing, public health education, or related field.
• Experience developing and delivering health education programs to diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive health education programs focusing on preventative health, chronic disease management, and maternal/child health.
• Conduct health screenings and assessments in community settings to identify risks and needs.
• Provide individual and group counseling on health topics to promote healthy lifestyles.
• Collaborate with local clinics, schools and community organizations to coordinate services in Paarl area.
• Educate community members on accessing healthcare and navigating the system.
• Create culturally sensitive educational materials and resources.
• Participate in community health fairs and events to raise health awareness.
• Advocate for community health needs and connect individuals with resources.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to program evaluation.
• Stay updated with best practices in community health nursing.
