Job summary

National Metrology Institute of South Africa (NMISA) invites applications for a 24-month Risk Management Internship in the Governance, Risk and Compliance section. You will work with the Risk Management Officer to gain hands-on experience in risk identification, analysis, registers and business continuity planning.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management or related field, basic MS Office knowledge, and strong written communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Risk Management, Auditing, Management or related field.
• Knowledge and understanding of governance and risk principles.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Good communication skills.
• Good report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Assessing and managing risks relating to NMISA and its operating environment.
• Conducting risk assessments of the Strategic Plan for the period under review.
• Considering the impact of systemic changes and policy developments.
• Evaluating effectiveness of risk mitigation plans on a quarterly basis.
• Maintaining NMISA Risk Registers.
• Supporting the overall risk management process within NMISA.
• Monitoring and updating fraud-prevention and ethics-management policies.
• Supporting Business Continuity Management Plans.
