Role overview

We are looking for a dynamic, customer-focused Retail Manager to lead one of our showrooms.

This role is primarily focused on driving sales performance, elevating customer satisfaction, and motivating a high-performing sales team.

While operational oversight remains important, the emphasis is leadership, coaching, and building a strong sales culture that consistently delivers exceptional customer experiences.

This position will be based in Fourways, Gauteng.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Leadership & Customer Experience
    • Drive a strong sales culture through daily coaching, clear targets, and performance conversations
    • Motivate the sales team to consistently deliver exceptional customer experience
    • Maintain a premium, customer‑centric environment aligned to the Weylandts brand
  • People Leadership & Team Development
    • Build and lead a high‑energy, customer‑focused team
    • Conduct regular coaching, on‑the‑floor training and development conversations
    • Create a performance‑driven environment with clear expectations, accountability and feedback
    • Role‑model positive leadership behaviours and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence
    • Manage staffing, succession planning, motivation, and retention
  • Financial Management
    • Drive store performance to meet and exceed sales and gross profit targets
    • Ensure disciplined discount management
    • Manage operating expenses in line with budgets
  • Brand, Standards & Visual Execution
    • Uphold exceptional Visual Merchandising standards and overall brand aesthetic
    • Maintain showroom cleanliness and presentation
    • Ensure consistent execution of in‑store experience standards (including music, staff dress code, and customer interaction)
  • Operational Oversight
    • Oversee the effective execution of sales, POS, stock management, VM, and back‑of‑house processes
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and internal terms and conditions
    • Support effective stock control through leadership oversight, not hands‑on involvement
What you bring
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Diploma or degree)
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience, with at least 3 years in senior management role
  • Previous experience in a consumer‑focused retail environment
  • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent financial acumen – analysing and interpreting sales figures, understanding financial indicators and budget management
  • Proficient in working with different systems and technology, including POS and stock management systems
  • Available to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle essential
