Introduction
The Retail Logistics Warehouse Manager oversees the end-to-end flow of goods within the warehouse and distribution operations. This role ensures efficient inventory management, on-time delivery, and optimal warehouse performance to support retail store operations and customer satisfaction.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and manage warehouse and logistics operations to ensure efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of retail products.
- Supervise warehouse staff, drivers, and logistics teams to maintain productivity, accuracy, and safety.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure accurate inventory control through cycle counts and regular audits.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring timely delivery to retail outlets and customers.
- Implement and maintain warehouse layout, systems, and workflows for optimal space utilization.
- Oversee compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
- Manage supplier and transport service relationships, ensuring service level agreements are met.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehouse efficiency, delivery times, and cost control.
- Prepare regular reports on inventory, logistics performance, and budget utilization.
- Lead, train, and motivate staff to maintain high standards of performance and teamwork.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 / Matric (essential).
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in warehouse or logistics management, preferably in a retail environment.
- Proven experience managing teams and coordinating distribution operations.
- Strong computer literacy (MS Office, ERP/WMS systems).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
