Job summary

DotActiv in Cape Town is seeking a Category Planner to drive strategic assortment and space-planning initiatives. You will use DotActiv software to design data-driven shelf layouts and optimized cluster plans per product category, delivering insights to clients and enhancing category performance.

The role requires a hands-on retail background, strong analytical skills and the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in retail.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Valid driver's license and own transport.
• Experience with data analysis techniques.
• Ability to represent the DotActiv brand as a specialist.
• Ability to engage internal clients effectively.
• Consumer Science, Business/Marketing or Supply Chain degree is required.

What would the job entail?

As a Category Planner at DotActiv you would be responsible for: (By utilising DotActiv's Category Planning Software)

• Creating strategic assortment plans;
• Designing data-driven floor space plans;
• Planning and building data-driven shelf plans;
• Conducting floor and space plan analytical reviews;
• Developing optimised cluster plans per product category using the cluster
• optimizer and maintenance tools in the DotActiv software;
• Analysing the cluster plan and profiling each cluster to deliver strategic insights to clients;
• Maximising customer and category performance by considering category strategies and plans, product financial performance, shopper psychology and aesthetic appeal; and
• Supporting, advising and guiding retail customers where required

Requirements

• Creative flair and ability to identify aesthetic/visual appeal
• 2+ years of similar and relevant experience in the Retail Sector

• Computer Literacy - MS Office
• Driver's license and own transport
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)
