A leading lighting retailer in Cape Town is seeking a Retail Assistant Manager to assist in day-to-day operations of retail stores. The successful candidate will focus on driving sales, maintaining high retail standards, and managing stock. Ideal applicants should have 3-5 years of management experience in retail, excellent communication skills, and be self-motivated. This full-time position requires in-person work at the Maitland branch.

AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY EXISTS WITHIN OUR MAITLAND BRANCH IN THE WESTERN CAPE FOR A RETAIL ASSISTANT MANAGER

Overview

A vacancy exists within Eagle Lighting for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to assist in the overall day-to-day operations of the Retail stores

The vacancy requires a person who:

  • Is detail orientated and possesses a high degree of accuracy
  • Efficient time management skills
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer literate and proficient in MS Office (Excel/ Word) and Outlook
  • Understanding of FMCG environment, 3-5 years Management experience in retail/ sales (lighting experience essential)
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, own vehicle and be willing to travel
  • Must be self-motivated and possess ability to work unsupervised
Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Drive sales, ensure high retail standards and customer service levels and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Reporting on operational requirements in the retail store
  • Assisting with stock management/purchasing and general duties
  • Researching and keeping up to date with lighting trends, technology and standards
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Tertiary qualification preferred
  • New business development experience
  • Customer service experience

Salary: Market related, based on experience
