Location: Site based – Nqushwa Local Municipality/ Amathole District, Eastern Cape. ±80 km from East London.

Employment Type: Fixed-term (project-based)

Requirements
  • Education: BEng, BSc Eng or BTech (Civil) from a recognized South African institution.
  • Professional Registration: Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of post-graduate site experience.
  • Training: Labour-Intensive Construction unit standard at NQF Level 7 (SAQA-accredited).
  • Project Experience: Successfully executed at least two (2) bridge construction projects in a lead/site representative capacity.
  • Availability: Full-time site presence for the contract duration.
Job Description
  • Act as the Engineer’s Representative on the Labour-Intensive Construction (LIC) bridge project and administer the contract (e.g. GCC).
  • Plan and coordinate construction to achieve scope, programme, quality, safety and environmental targets.
  • Maintain records and measurements; support payment certification and reporting.
  • Engage with Employer, Contractor, and community structures in line with LIC principles.
  • Apply the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in all project activities.
  • Facilitate monthly progress reports and coordinate with all engineers, site staff, and related resources.
  • Supervise daily works, quality control, and quantity verification.
  • Review method statements, programmes, and HSE documentation.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement and resolve on-site issues.
  • Prepare progress, payment, and close-out documentation.
