Placements24 is seeking a diligent Resident Civil Engineer to oversee municipal infrastructure projects in Queenstown. You will be on-site, supervising contractors, verifying work, and ensuring adherence to approved designs and specifications for roads, water reticulation, and stormwater systems.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, at least 6 years of site supervision experience, and professional registration with ECSA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• At least 6 years of site supervision and resident engineering experience for municipal infrastructure projects.
• Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Experience with water, sanitation, and road construction projects.
• Strong contract administration (e.g., GCC, FIDIC) and quality control procedures.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the day-to-day execution of municipal civil engineering projects on-site.
• Monitor contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, measurements, and testing of materials and workmanship.
• Review and approve contractor method statements, program updates, and payment applications.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress photos, and as-built information.
• Address site queries and coordinate with the design team and client representatives to resolve technical issues promptly.
