About the Job

A prominent African airline is seeking a customer-focused Reservations & Ticketing Agent to join its team at Cape Town International Airport. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a passion for the aviation industry, and the ability to perform well in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment. We require a highly experienced Ticketing Travel Consultant with a solid background in reservations and ticketing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional and accurate reservation and ticketing services to customers via phone, email, and at the airport ticket desk.
  • Make, modify, and confirm flight bookings using the airline's reservation system.
  • Issue, reissue, and refund tickets in accordance with airline policies and IATA standards.
  • Offer fare quotations, advice on routes, schedules, and airline policies.
  • Assist passengers with special service requests and ensure proper documentation is recorded.
  • Handle travel disruptions, including re-bookings, involuntary changes, and schedule irregularities.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and ensure queries are resolved professionally.
  • Process payments and manage cash or credit transactions securely.
  • Collaborate with airport operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless passenger experiences.
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay updated on travel industry trends, airline policies, and ticketing systems.
  • Uphold airline safety, security, and service standards at all times.
  • Open to working shifts or after hours.
Minimum Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in airline reservations, ticketing, or travel agency operations.
  • Proficiency in a global distribution system (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport, or Galileo.
  • Understanding of airline fare rules, ticketing procedures, and IATA standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Valid South African work authorization.
  • Language skills: Fluency in Swahili and English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and conflict-resolution abilities.
