A prominent African airline is seeking a customer-focused Reservations & Ticketing Agent to join its team at Cape Town International Airport. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a passion for the aviation industry, and the ability to perform well in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment. We require a highly experienced Ticketing Travel Consultant with a solid background in reservations and ticketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional and accurate reservation and ticketing services to customers via phone, email, and at the airport ticket desk.
- Make, modify, and confirm flight bookings using the airline's reservation system.
- Issue, reissue, and refund tickets in accordance with airline policies and IATA standards.
- Offer fare quotations, advice on routes, schedules, and airline policies.
- Assist passengers with special service requests and ensure proper documentation is recorded.
- Handle travel disruptions, including re-bookings, involuntary changes, and schedule irregularities.
- Maintain high levels of customer service and ensure queries are resolved professionally.
- Process payments and manage cash or credit transactions securely.
- Collaborate with airport operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless passenger experiences.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay updated on travel industry trends, airline policies, and ticketing systems.
- Uphold airline safety, security, and service standards at all times.
- Open to working shifts or after hours.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-5 years' experience in airline reservations, ticketing, or travel agency operations.
- Proficiency in a global distribution system (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport, or Galileo.
- Understanding of airline fare rules, ticketing procedures, and IATA standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Valid South African work authorization.
- Language skills: Fluency in Swahili and English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Customer Service Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and conflict-resolution abilities.
