Job description

Responsibilities

• Assist with research on insects of veterinary importance in the fieldincluding Black flies Culicoides Stomoxys Tabanid and Tsetse flies.
• Assist in the maintenance and administration of the ARC-OVR tsetsecolony.
• Take irradiated blood for bioassays and interpret the results.
• Update weekly tsetse colony mortality database.
• Assist Researchers during field trips with trap deployment fly collection management.
• Responsible for maintaining infrastructure and facilities.
• Responsible for training interns and providing support as needed.
• Adhering to all Safety and GLP rules and regulations.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Veterinary Technology.
• B-Tech: in Veterinary Technology will be added advantage.
• Professional membership: SAVC registration is compulsory.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• A drivers licence will be an added advantage.
