• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field with a focus on nanomaterials.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in nanomaterials synthesis and characterization.
• Proven experience with various nanomaterial synthesis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize and fabricate a variety of nanomaterials, including nanoparticles, nanowires, and 2D materials, using methods such as chemical vapor deposition (CVD), sol-gel, and hydrothermal synthesis.
• Characterize the structure, morphology, and properties of synthesized nanomaterials using techniques like SEM, TEM, XRD, XPS, and BET.
• Optimize synthesis parameters to control material properties, size, and morphology.
• Investigate the performance of nanomaterials in specific application contexts (e.g., catalysis, sensing, energy storage).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate nanomaterials into device prototypes.
• Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Assist in the procurement of laboratory supplies and equipment maintenance.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols within the Midrand research laboratory.
