The Research Scientist - Image Analysis & Coding Technologist develops, operates, and maintains automated image processing and data analysis pipelines using high-throughput near-real-time phytoplankton monitoring systems using Imaging FlowCytobot (IFCB) instruments. The role enables rapid detection, taxonomic classification, and quantification of phytoplankton and harmful algal bloom species through the application and development of automated image classification models providing near real-time data to inform government, industry, and research responses.

It builds on SARDI’s scientific expertise and positions the state as a leader in algal bloom research and management.We are seeking motivated, skilled, and suitably qualified professionals who are inspired to contribute to pioneering research and operational programs that protect marine ecosystems, aquaculture, and coastal communities.
