Job summary

A global energy solutions provider in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced finance professional for management accounting support. The role requires strong knowledge of accounting practices and SAP R / 3, along with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate should have over 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, and the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in Accounting and Finance required.
  • 4 years customizing experience with SAP R / 3 preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a multi-cultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare month end on SAP R / 3 including journals and reporting.
  • Prepare monthly external reporting and board papers.
  • Manage project costs for R&D and other key projects.

Job description

Landis+Gyr (Pty) Ltd is part of a global organisation engaged in the design, production and distribution of energy metering and energy management products.

The function provides management accounting support to the finance department.

The responsible person must have knowledge of accounting and finance and experience with SAP R / 3.

The role requires communicating externally with reporting controllers within the group and internally with sales, finance, production and executive management.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare month end on SAP R / 3 including:
    • Prepare journals for general ledger posting
    • Prepare month end reporting information for key decision makers
    • Collate information needed for reports
    • Prepare various reports requested by the CFO or financial manager
  • Prepare month end external reporting including:
    • Input for sales and purchasing plan
    • Income statements
    • Balance sheet
    • Headcount
    • Functional cost
    • Inter-company confirmations
  • Preparing board meeting papers and presentation packs for executive management
  • Prepare budgets and forecast inputs
  • Prepare cash flow statements
  • Project management:
    • Cost controlling for Research and Development department
    • Software and services division administration
    • Key projects administration and coordination
    • Coordinating SAP special requirements and improvement projects
