Placements24 in Port Elizabeth is seeking a knowledgeable Renewable Energy Policy Advisor to contribute to policy development initiatives. This hybrid role combines independent research and collaborative sessions at the Port Elizabeth office to shape regulations, incentives, and market structures in support of clean energy.

You will analyze policies, engage with government agencies and industry groups, prepare briefs and presentations, and translate complex data into actionable recommendations

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Public Policy, Environmental Law, Economics, or related field.
• 5+ years in energy policy analysis, advocacy, or regulation, with renewables specialization.
• Strong understanding of SA and global renewable energy markets and policy drivers.
• Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Strong networking and communication skills for remote engagement and in-person meetings in Port Elizabeth.

About the Role

You will work closely with government agencies, industry associations, and internal stakeholders to shape effective policies that support the growth of clean energy. The position requires a blend of independent remote work and collaborative sessions at our Port Elizabeth office, allowing for both focused analysis and dynamic team interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze national and international renewable energy policies , legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
• Provide expert advice and recommendations on policy development and advocacy strategies to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Public Policy, Environmental Law, Economics, or a related field.
• Substantial experience (5+ years) in energy policy analysis , advocacy, or regulation, with a specialization in renewables.
• In-depth understanding of the South African and global renewable energy markets and policy drivers.
• Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
• Strong networking and communication skills, suitable for both remote engagement and in-person meetings in Port Elizabeth .
