Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Remote Water and Sanitation Engineer to contribute to vital infrastructure projects across South Africa. In this fully remote role, you will focus on the design and planning of water supply, treatment, and wastewater systems. You will work collaboratively with a dispersed team, utilizing digital tools to deliver sustainable and efficient solutions. This position is perfect for an experienced engineer who values autonomy, embraces remote collaboration, and is passionate about improving public health and environmental quality through innovative water infrastructure design.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan potable water supply networks, including treatment processes and distribution systems.
• Develop wastewater collection systems and treatment plant designs.
• Conduct feasibility studies, hydraulic modeling, and environmental impact assessments for water projects.
• Prepare technical specifications, tender documents, and construction supervision guidelines.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant South African standards, regulations, and environmental legislation.
• Collaborate effectively with remote project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering, with ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Candidate Engineer (Pr CPM).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience specifically in water and sanitation engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS).
• Strong understanding of water treatment technologies and wastewater treatment processes.
• Proven ability to manage design tasks independently and meet project deadlines.
• Excellent written communication skills for remote collaboration and report generation.
