Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Curriculum Developer to design, develop, and revise STEM curricula for diverse educational levels. The role is primarily remote with occasional site visits to Port Elizabeth, shaping engaging, accessible learning experiences across Eastern Cape and beyond.

You will collaborate with educators and instructional designers, integrate innovative methodologies and tech, and create assessments to measure outcomes. Strong writing and research skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in STEM or Education.
• Proven curriculum development experience, ideally in STEM education.
• Strong pedagogical theory and instructional design knowledge.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in remote settings and manage multiple projects.
• Experience with educational technologies and online platforms.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Port Elizabeth.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive STEM curriculum materials, including lesson plans, activities, assessments, and digital resources.
• Align curriculum content with national educational standards and learning objectives.
• Incorporate innovative teaching methodologies and technologies into curriculum design.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, educators, and instructional designers to ensure curriculum quality and relevance.
• Develop assessment tools to measure student understanding and program effectiveness.
• Review and revise existing curriculum materials to maintain currency and improve pedagogical impact.
• Create engaging content for online learning platforms and blended learning environments.
• Conduct research on emerging trends and best practices in STEM education.
• Ensure curriculum is inclusive and accessible to a diverse range of learners.
• Provide training and support to educators implementing the developed curriculum.
