Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Remote Soil Scientist to contribute to sustainable agriculture initiatives. You will analyze soil data from various locations, providing insights into soil health and management strategies in a fully remote role.

You will collaborate with field agronomists, environmental consultants, and data scientists to interpret soil profiles and recommend data-driven land-use approaches, supporting global food security and environmental sustainability.

Qualifications

Ph.D. or Master's in Soil Science, Agronomy, or related environmental field.
Extensive experience in soil analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
Proficiency with soil laboratory techniques and data analysis software.
Experience with GIS and remote sensing applications in agriculture.
Strong understanding of soil chemistry, physics, and biology.
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work independently remotely.

Responsibilities

Analyze soil sample data, including chemical, physical, and biological properties.
Develop soil fertility recommendations and nutrient management plans for diverse agricultural systems.
Conduct research on soil degradation, erosion, and conservation techniques.
Interpret remote sensing and GIS data to assess soil characteristics over large areas.
Prepare detailed technical reports and present findings to clients and stakeholders.
Collaborate with research institutions and contribute to scientific publications.
