Placements24 is seeking motivated individuals to join as Remote Apprentice Software Developers, working from anywhere in South Africa. This fully remote apprenticeship offers hands-on learning, real-world projects, and mentorship from experienced software engineers.

You will participate in code reviews, collaborate with a distributed team using agile practices, and develop skills in modern development workflows including Git and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational understanding of at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java).
• Demonstrable passion for software development through personal projects or online courses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist in writing, testing, and debugging code for web and mobile applications using specified programming languages.
• Collaborate with team members on feature development and bug fixes through remote communication tools.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives within an agile framework.
• Learn and apply best practices in software design, version control (Git), and CI/CD.
