Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team on a fully remote basis, managing projects across South Africa. You will provide expert geotechnical advice and lead complex investigations and designs for infrastructure and building projects nationwide.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, 10+ years of experience, Pr Eng with ECSA, and proficiency with Plaxis 3D and FLAC.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex geotechnical investigations and provide expert interpretation of findings.
• Design foundations, slopes, retaining structures, and other geotechnical elements for major infrastructure and building projects.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies for geotechnical challenges.
• Oversee and mentor junior geotechnical engineers and field teams remotely.
• Prepare high-level technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure all designs and recommendations comply with relevant national and international geotechnical standards.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record in leading national-scale projects.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• Extensive experience with advanced geotechnical software (e.g., Plaxis 3D, FLAC) and numerical modeling.
