Placements24 is seeking a Remote Senior Game Systems Designer to conceptualize, define, and implement core gameplay systems for PC and console titles. You will collaborate with engineers, artists, and designers to craft cohesive experiences and mentor junior designers in a fully remote setting.

The role requires at least 6 years in game design with 3 years in systems design, a strong portfolio, and proficiency in documenting designs.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in game design with at least 3 years on systems design for shipped titles.
• Portfolio showing complex system design (combat, economy, progression, AI).
• Strong understanding of game design principles and engagement loops.
• Experience documenting designs clearly; scripting advantage with Lua/Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and prototype core gameplay systems for PC and console.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure feasibility and efficient implementation.
• Create interconnected systems supporting a cohesive player experience.
• Balance economies, progression, and player abilities for engaging gameplay.
• Write clear design docs (GDDs, flowcharts, spreadsheets).
• Participate in playtesting, gather feedback, iterate on designs.
