Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join a fully remote, globally distributed team. You will design models, process large datasets, and translate insights into actionable business decisions.

The role emphasizes strong coding, communication with non-technical stakeholders, mentoring juniors, and staying current with ML advances. You will collaborate across departments to drive data-informed decisions and contribute to strategic data initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data science or a related analytical role.
• Proficiency in Python or R, with data science libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Deep understanding of ML algorithms, statistical modeling, and experimental design.
• Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Excellent data visualization skills (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and presentation skills for non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage projects in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement statistical models and ML algorithms to solve business problems.
• Clean, process, and transform large, complex datasets from various sources.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Develop and deploy predictive models for forecasting, classification, and clustering.
