Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist with a strong ML focus to design, develop, and deploy advanced models in a remote-first environment. You will transform complex data into actionable insights, build scalable data pipelines, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in data science, expertise in Python or R and deep learning frameworks, and a track record in deploying ML solutions with MLOps practices.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data science with a focus on machine learning.
• Proficiency in Python or R and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Pandas and NumPy.
• Experience with ML techniques including supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, NLP, and RL.
• Strong statistical modeling, experimental design, and hypothesis testing skills.
• Experience with Spark/Hadoop and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent problem-solving, independent work, and remote collaboration.
• Ability to translate business problems into data science solutions; ML deployment & MLOps preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced ML models and algorithms for various applications.
• Process, clean, and transform large, complex datasets for modeling.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns and insights.
• Build and maintain data pipelines for model training and deployment.
• Evaluate, optimize, and ensure robust model performance at scale.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to integrate ML models into production.
• Stay current with AI/ML/deep learning research and innovations.
• Communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to team growth.
• Develop and implement MLOps best practices for model lifecycle management.
