Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Agricultural Property Valuer to service Upington, Northern Cape, and surrounding agricultural areas. The role involves valuing farms, vineyards, orchards, and irrigation schemes using multiple methodologies and delivering detailed reports for financing, insurance, and planning.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of agricultural valuation experience, SACPVP PAV/PV registration, and strong knowledge of irrigation, soil, and water rights in the Northern Cape.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in valuing agricultural properties.
• B.Sc./B.Com. in Property Studies, Agricultural Economics, or equivalent.
• Professional registration with SACPVP as PAV or PV.
• In-depth knowledge of Northern Cape agriculture and irrigation systems.
• Proficiency in valuation software and MS Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel within Upington and broader Northern Cape.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for site inspections.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections and detailed assessments of agricultural properties around Upington.
• Determine market value of farms, vineyards, orchards, grazing land, and related infrastructure.
• Prepare comprehensive valuation reports for banks, legal firms, insurers, and private clients.
• Apply valuation methods including comparable sales, income capitalization, and cost approaches.
• Stay current with agricultural market trends, irrigation technologies, and land values in the Northern Cape.
• Research zoning, land use patterns, and environmental factors affecting values.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to gather information and present findings.
• Provide expert testimony or consultation on valuation matters when required.
