Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Principal NLP Scientist for a fully remote role. You will lead NLP research, develop production-ready language models, and mentor a team of researchers and engineers.

A PhD and 8+ years of NLP experience are required, with deep expertise in DL frameworks and NLP libraries. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate breakthroughs into practical AI features, publish findings, and steer the strategic direction of NLP capabilities.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, AI or related field with strong NLP publications.
• 8+ years of NLP research and development experience.
• Proven experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow and NLP libraries such as HuggingFace, spaCy, NLTK.
• Experience designing, training and deploying large-scale NLP models.
• Strong understanding of linguistic theory and computational language approaches.
• Excellent Python programming and data science tooling skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D efforts in NLP areas including text generation, sentiment analysis, information extraction, and QA.
• Design, implement and evaluate novel NLP algorithms using state-of-the-art DL techniques.
• Mentor a team of NLP researchers and engineers; foster innovation.
• Collaborate with product teams to translate research into features and products.
• Publish research findings in top conferences/journals.
• Develop scalable NLP pipelines and contribute to roadmap.
