Placements24 is seeking a Remote Precision Agriculture Technologist to join a distributed team. You will specialize in drone operations, sensor data analytics, and GIS-driven crop management, delivering data-driven insights to farmers and agronomists from a fully remote setup.

You will plan flight campaigns, process aerial imagery, analyze NDVI and soil-moisture data, and generate actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field related to agriculture, agronomy, or remote sensing.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in precision agriculture with drone operations and data analysis.
• Proficiency with drone platforms, sensors, photogrammetry software and GIS tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and analyze drone-based aerial surveys for crop monitoring and data collection.
• Process and interpret high-resolution imagery and data from multispectral, thermal, and LiDAR sensors.
• Integrate data from drones, ground sensors, and farm software for comprehensive analysis.
• Develop algorithms to identify crop health issues, nutrient deficiencies, and irrigation needs.
• Create detailed reports, maps, and visualizations for clients and stakeholders.

• Proven experience with various drone platforms and imaging sensors commonly used in agriculture.
• Proficiency in photogrammetry software (e.g., Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape) and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Strong understanding of agricultural principles, crop physiology, and soil science.
• Excellent data analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively and independently in a fully remote environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
• A pilot's license or certification for drone operation is highly desirable.
