Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute advanced plant breeding programs for key crop species, focusing on both traditional and molecular breeding techniques.

• Manage germplasm collections, including evaluation, characterization, and preservation of diverse genetic resources.
• Oversee laboratory operations for molecular marker development, genotyping, and phenotyping, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

• Develop and maintain detailed breeding records, experimental designs, and performance data.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Crop Science, or a related field with a strong emphasis on quantitative genetics and molecular breeding.
• A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in plant breeding, with a proven track record of developing successful crop varieties.
• Deep understanding of population genetics, statistical genetics, and quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping.
• Proficiency in bioinformatics tools and software for genomic data analysis (e.g., R, SAS, TASSEL, PLINK).
• Demonstrated experience with marker-assisted selection (MAS), genomic selection (GS), and other modern breeding technologies.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts clearly.
