Job summary

Cognisys is seeking a passionate Penetration Tester to join our cybersecurity team in a remote South Africa role. You will perform comprehensive security assessments across networks, web applications, APIs, mobile apps and cloud environments, using a mix of automated and manual techniques.

You will communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, produce detailed reports, and help clients prioritise and remediate identified vulnerabilities to strengthen their security

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience conducting penetration testing across networks, web apps, APIs, mobile apps or cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of offensive security methodologies, tools and techniques.
• Experience using vulnerability scanning tools alongside manual testing and exploitation techniques.
• Ability to assess potential impact and risk of identified vulnerabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct penetration testing across network, web application, API, mobile application and cloud environments.
• Simulate real-world attack scenarios and assess resilience against threats.
• Use automated tools and manual techniques to identify and validate vulnerabilities.
• Produce high-quality reports with remediation recommendations.
• Present findings to clients and help prioritise mitigation.
