Placements24 is offering a remote apprenticeship to become Apprentice Mechanical Fitters. The program focuses on installing, maintaining, repairing and overhauling mechanical systems, using simulations and online modules with on-site assessments where feasible.

You will learn precision fitting, blueprint interpretation and the use of diagnostic tools, gain hands-on skills through remote guidance, and prepare for a recognized trade qualification.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with passes in mathematics and physical science.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to remote learning modalities and occasional on-site requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Good communication for effective remote collaboration.
• Commitment to completing the apprenticeship program and achieving trade qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Learn to assemble, install, and service mechanical machinery and equipment under remote guidance and simulation.
• Develop skills in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Practice precision fitting, aligning, and adjusting mechanical components.
• Gain proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Assist in diagnosing mechanical faults and perform routine maintenance and repairs.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols and environmental standards throughout training and assessments.
