About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and data-driven Remote Logistics Network Analyst to join their expanding team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing our client's logistics network, focusing on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing service levels across various operational nodes. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional skills in data modeling, network optimization, and predictive analytics, with a strong understanding of global supply chain dynamics. This role is pivotal in shaping our client's strategic decisions regarding their distribution infrastructure and transportation routes, particularly as they expand their reach from Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current logistics network performance, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement optimization models for transportation routes, warehouse locations, and inventory distribution.
• Utilize advanced analytics tools and techniques to forecast demand, predict potential disruptions, and assess risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and IT, to gather data and implement network enhancements.
• Design and present detailed reports and dashboards to senior management, outlining findings, recommendations, and projected impacts.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in logistics network design and optimization.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed network changes and investment opportunities.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track network performance over time.
• Support the strategic planning process by providing data-driven insights into network capacity and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain analysis, or network optimization.
• Proven expertise in network modeling software (e.g., Llamasoft, AnyLogic) and/or advanced analytical tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
• Strong proficiency in statistical analysis, forecasting, and optimization techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
• Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with global logistics and supply chain operations.
• Knowledge of the South African logistics landscape, particularly concerning operations near Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal , is a plus.
