Placements24 is seeking a Lead Geotechnical Engineer to helm nationwide projects from a remote location in South Africa. You will guide a team of engineers and technicians, deliver comprehensive geotechnical reports, and advise on foundations, slope stability, seismic analysis, and ground improvement techniques.

The role requires a Master's or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, Pr Eng registration, and 10+ years of leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering with leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical investigations and design projects from inception to completion.
• Oversee preparation of detailed geotechnical reports including ground conditions and risk assessments.
• Develop and review designs for foundations, retaining walls, and earth structures.
• Provide expert advice on slope stability, seismic analysis, and ground improvement techniques.
• Mentor a remote team of geotechnical engineers and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with SA and international geotechnical standards and best practices.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to meet project objectives.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and identify new opportunities.
• Utilize advanced geotechnical modelling software for complex analyses.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of methodologies and offerings.
