Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Remote Lead Data Scientist to drive innovation in genomics analysis. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of sophisticated analytical projects on large-scale genomic and clinical datasets.
- Develop, implement, and validate novel machine learning models and statistical methods for variant calling, association studies, and predictive modeling.
- Mentor and manage a team of data scientists, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and scientific rigor.
- Collaborate with biologists and clinicians to define research questions, interpret results, and drive discovery.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of scalable data analysis pipelines and infrastructure.
- Communicate complex findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences through presentations and reports.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.S. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in data science, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven expertise in applying machine learning, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques to complex datasets.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Extensive experience with analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, including whole-genome and whole-exome sequencing.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
