Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Junior Sports Data Analyst for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will collect, clean, and analyze sports data to generate insights for performance, strategy, and fan engagement.

You will translate data into actionable recommendations and collaborate with coaches, performance staff, and marketing teams. The ideal candidate has strong quantitative skills and experience with Python (Pandas, NumPy), R, SQL, and data visualization tools like Tableau

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Sports Science, or related quantitative field.
• Proven experience with data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python (Pandas, NumPy) or R.
• Familiarity with SQL for database querying.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent understanding of various sports and related metrics.
• Ability to communicate complex findings clearly, verbally and in writing.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
